No Tax Situation Should Scare You, When You Call Leyla Saavedra

She had just graduated from college with a degree in accounting from Baruch College.  She was ready and excited to begin a career she knew she would love.  Her good friend and mentor, a man quite a bit older than she, offered her a partnership and why not? They were both accountants.  At first it seemed to work. But these were two people, generations apart with different ideas about how to grow a business.  Leyla wanted to use social media. She knew they needed  a cool website.  Her partner was happy with word of mouth.  Leyla realized it was not working out and decided to part ways with him and to start her own company.  It was a brave and risky move. Being confident of her gifts, she went for it and never regretted it.

Leyla is originally from Venezuela.  She is a strong student and based on merit, was able to turn that into a benefit for herself . She is a person with a lot of moxie and a lot of charm. She knows her value. She was able to secure scholarships for herself after she paid for her first semester of school.

After separating from her partner, Leyla used social media, gave conferences to her many   contacts in Florida and had a great website designed to aggressively grow her business.  Her goal is to be an expert in taxes, to help people secure a decent life for themselves, to be their go-to  person with anything having to do with their personal finances.  If she gets a lead from a company that wants her to do payroll, she will give that lead away., earning a small commission for herself in the process.  She is focused and determined to stay on track and have the kind of business she envisions. It gives her great satisfaction to see how her clients depend on her and trust her to tell them if now is the time to buy a car, a house or should they wait.

A few years ago Leyla was able to bring her parents to live in the United States.  It was difficult  for them, as it is for all immigrants when they first arrive. These, though, are special people. They are going to school to learn English and hope to insert themselves into the culture, They are a great help to Leyla by cooking, shopping and helping with household chores. They were flabbergasted that before they came, she coped all by herself.  She reminded them of all the great take out options we have. LOL

Lelyla feels very fortunate and wants to pay it forward.  She reached out to her college and told them she wanted to fund a scholarship.  The one caveat was that the student had to pay for their first semester by themselves and then they would qualify, assuming the grades were deserving.  This is what happened to her and it worked.

Leyla is smart, determined and focused . Her company is doing well, and she just moved to new office space.and now even her sister works with her. She is the poster girl for “hard work pays off.”
